Meeting safely
Zwaptz does not post anything. Every swap ends with two people meeting and handing things over, which is what makes it work and what makes this page necessary.
Zwaptz does not verify identity, run background checks, or inspect items. We show you a valuation and a rounded distance. Everything else is your judgement, so here is what that judgement is usually made of.
Meet somewhere public, in daylight
A café, a station concourse, a supermarket entrance, a shopping centre — anywhere with staff, other people and cameras. Many police stations have a marked bay set aside for online-sale handovers; if there is one near you, it is the best option there is.
Do not go to someone's home, and do not invite them to yours. This is the single decision that matters most, and it is worth losing a swap over. Anyone unwilling to meet in public for a handover that takes four minutes is telling you something.
Tell someone where you are going
Name the place, the time, and who you are meeting. Share your location with them for the hour if your phone does that. It costs nothing and changes what happens if something goes wrong.
Check the item before you hand yours over
Power it on. Open the case. Count the pieces. Check the serial number against any photographs in the listing. An appraisal on Zwaptz is a valuation of what was described — it is not an inspection, and nobody from Zwaptz has seen either item.
For anything with an account attached — a phone, a console, a watch — confirm it has been signed out and unlocked before you accept it. A locked device is worth its parts, not its listing.
Keep the conversation on Zwaptz
Agree the swap in the trade's own conversation. It is the record of what was promised, and it is what an administrator can read if the swap goes wrong. Moving to another app early is the most common opening move in a scam, because it leaves nothing behind.
Nobody at Zwaptz will ever ask you for a password, a payment, or a verification code. There is no fee to complete a swap, no deposit to release an item, and no courier to pay. Any message asking for one of those is not from us.
You can stop at any point
Up to the moment you hand something over, you owe nobody anything. If the item is not what was described, if the meeting place changes to somewhere you would rather not go, or if it simply feels wrong — leave. A swap that does not happen has cost you a journey. The alternative can cost considerably more.
If something goes wrong
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number first — Zwaptz cannot help with that and should not be your first call.
For anything else — an account behaving badly, an item that was not what it claimed to be — use Report, at the bottom of any item, any profile and any swap. The trade’s conversation is the record, and an administrator can read it. Suspending an account is something we can actually do.
